The Story Behind the Brand: Branding Photography for Tabletop Marketing

There are some people you meet in business who you immediately think, Oh, these people are really doing some good in the world.

That’s Tabletop Marketing.

Tabletop is a marketing company founded by two sisters who left their corporate marketing careers to team up and build something of their own. And what I love most about their approach is that they aren’t interested in just making something look good. They care about the story behind the brand.

Which, obviously, is something I can get behind.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Tabletop Marketing before, creating photography for some really incredible Texas businesses and organizations—from jewelry designers to foundations and philanthropic organizations. They have this knack for finding the heart of a brand and figuring out how to tell that story in a way that actually connects with people.

So when they asked me to photograph their own team, I was pretty excited about it.

The People Behind the Work

When you're photographing a marketing company, it would be pretty easy to fall into the standard corporate branding-photo trap.

Everyone standing in a row.

Everyone smiling.

Everyone looking very professional.

And sure, we got some of those photos. You need the good team shot.

But I wanted to go beyond that.

Because Tabletop isn't just a company. It's a group of really talented people who have built something together.

The goal was to show their personalities, their relationships, their creativity, and the energy they bring to the work.

We photographed them working together, interacting, laughing, and doing what they actually do.

And those ended up being some of my favorite images.

Because that's the stuff that makes a team feel like a team.

More Than Just a Marketing Company

One of the things that stood out to me about Tabletop from the beginning is how insightful they are.

They are genuinely knowledgeable about marketing, branding, storytelling, and what makes people pay attention. They understand that a brand isn't just a logo or a color palette or a perfectly curated Instagram feed.

It's a story.

It's the people behind the business.

It's the reason someone started it in the first place and the reason their clients care about what they do.

And that's exactly what I wanted to capture in their branding photography.
