AN INTERVIEW WITH THE ARTIST

Born & raised in Dallas, TX. I’m married and raising two boys. I was an artist long before I was a photographer.
For 15 years I worked a sculptor and high school art teacher. I guided teenagers, training them how to see the world through the eye of an artist. After having my boys, I picked up a camera and realized I could capture memories - the feelings of motherhood - in a way others couldn’t.
I wanted to share my artistic eye with the people in my life: mothers, graduating seniors, business owners, friends in the in-between chapters. So here I am.

There's an Oscar Wilde quote I often think about, “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life.”
The idea that once a painting or a film or a photograph shows us a certain feeling, we look for that feeling in our own lives. We see ourselves through it.
I love incorporating tributes to art within my photographs.

The moments people don't think to document are the ones I keep coming back to — the ordinary Tuesday afternoon, the first morning in a new house, the baby clutching a snack while mom wrestles her into a dress.
I photograph people building businesses, too — creators and dreamers who need brand imagery that actually feels like them, not just a polished headshot.
Milestones are wonderful. But it's the quiet moments that tend to change us most, isn't it?

A pregnant belly is forever my muse. So is a kitchen at 5pm. So is a divorcee who decided to reclaim the next chapter of her life.
