GRIT TO GLOSS

I’ve been photographing Jaiden and her boys for a couple of years now, so I’ve gotten to really know her—she has this carefree, grounded kind of energy that doesn’t try too hard, but always feels beautiful.

When she texted me to tell me she was pregnant with a girl, the idea came almost instantly.

I didn’t want to do a typical maternity session. It didn’t fit her. Instead, I wanted to take that more tomboy side of her and play with it—push it in a slightly more styled, feminine direction, but in a way that still felt true to who she is. Something a little tongue-in-cheek. A little unexpected.

I also knew the perfect place to bring it to life, The Glossary Studio, a woman-owned studio here in Richardson. The space felt aligned with the whole vision: clean, creative, and flexible enough to hold multiple looks without overcomplicating it.

I brought in my friend, Mallory, from MHB Creative to help with styling and creative direction, and we built out six different looks for the session. On the day of, she was there helping everything run smoothly so we could move quickly and make it all happen within an hour.

And Jaiden just trusted it. Fully.

That trust is what made the whole thing work.

The final images feel like her—fun, a little bold, a little soft, a little sexy, and completely herself. Not overly polished, not overly “maternity,” just an elevated, fashion-forward version of the woman she is.
